SPECIFICATION: A
16-gauge, stainless steel, double-pointed needle with an
overall length of 1 ¼". The needles on either side of
the hub are ½" length. The hub is chrome plated brass,
¼" square. The transfer needles are packaged twelve
per container, and can be autoclaved.
OBJECTIVE: To aid in
the rehydration of a desiccated (dried) vaccine, or transfer
liquid from one bottle to another via a vacuum process.
APPLICATION: Autoclave, or
sterilize, the double-pointed needle. Insert one needle end
into an upright bottle of sterile solution (diluent). Place
the opposite needle end into an inverted vaccine bottle.
Grasping both bottles, reverse the bottles and allow the
vacuum from the vaccine bottle to pull the liquid into the
vaccine for rehydration and use. |
