SPECIFICATION: The #28450 sheep crook is manufactured of hardened carbon steel and black matte painted finish. The attachment assembly is 4 ½" long by a 1" diameter with a wood screw attached for handle assembly to a wooden shaft. The hook is 9" in length with the curved side a 6" length (see image). The hook opening is 1" in diameter and 1 3/8" at the holding arc. The crook can be ordered by itself or with one of a selection of white birch wood handles available in convenient and variable lengths.

OBJECTIVE: The crook enables the animal to be humanely captured or controlled without the use of other restraints, such as a rope or attempting hands on capture.

APPLICATION: Crook the animal’s rear leg, near the knee joint and go hand over hand down the shaft until the animal can be subdued. It can also be used to control the animal until a second party can grasp the animal and subdue it. Always use caution when approaching an animal to prevent injury.
