SPECIFICATION: The
mouth wedge is made of a stainless steel material to provide
long lasting use. The wedge is designed to provide the
arcade more comfort and safety with a guide on the inner and
outer edge to minimize movement. The support bar is a sturdy
aluminum alloy. The adjustable eye hook has a 48" nylon
rope provided for securing the wedge to a halter ring. See
the drawing for measurement specifications.
OBJECTIVE: A rapid and
easy to use instrument to give access to a horse’s mouth.
The wedge allows the animal’s mouth to remain open for
access of procedures to be performed while limiting a
minimal amount of discomfort to the animal.
APPLICATION: (1) Place the wedge on
the opposite side of the mouth you desire to work on. (2)
Make sure the teeth are centered on the stainless steel bar.
(3) Pull the wedge back against the mouth firmly. (4) Place
the nylon rope over the head and tie off in a slip knot
around a halter ring. If you need to remove the wedge in a
hurry, pull the slip knot and the wedge will break free. A
horse will raise its head when working on the lower jaw and
tethering with a tightly secured lead rope is recommended. |
