REAGENTS Pooled Serum

Information All blood to be used in filtered serum is collected from healthy animals that are kept on our premises under the direct supervision of our Staff Veterinarians. They are kept on antibiotic free diets and are not medicated in any way. Animals are fasted for 12 hours before being used as donors. After blood is drawn it is allowed to clot, then centrifuged. Serum is then separated and sterilized via filtration using a .22 micron filter or equivalent. Serum is then bottled into requested aliquots. Lot size varies from 100 to 115 bottles for larger animals, such as calves, horses and goats. Smaller animals yield smaller lots. Sera are shipped prior to sterility test completion. If any problems are encountered, the customer is immediately notified. Because of the careful measures taken during all procedures, contamination is unlikely. This is a non hazardous material - there are no MSDS available. For use as a raw material or component. Not for human in vitro diagnostic use without further manufacturing or processing. |
